HAMBURG, N.Y. – Prospective students and families can learn all about Hilbert College’s academic and student life programs at four Visit Nights scheduled in February.
Visit Nights will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Franciscan Hall Atrium. A financial aid workshop, including information on how to finance a college education, is also planned for one of the sessions.
Department-specific Visit Nights will give students and families a chance to meet department chairpersons, faculty, current students, and alumni to get some insight from the people involved. Outstanding internship opportunities at organizations throughout the area, job outlook and placement, and course content will also be discussed.
Department programs to be highlighted Feb. 6 will include economic crime investigation, human services and paralegal studies. The Feb. 20 department session will focus on the criminal justice, business administration and English programs.
Representatives from Hilbert’s four law and justice departments (criminal justice, economic crime investigation, liberal studies [law and government], and paralegal studies) will answer questions in an open format Feb. 13 at the Law and Justice Panel night. The accounting and psychology departments will also be represented. Students will learn how to focus their interests and ambitions in the law and justice field.
A general Visit Night Feb. 27 will close out the month with general information about the college, different majors, student life, and basic department information to be provided. Plus, hear a panel of students discuss the Hilbert experience firsthand and address questions from those in attendance.
Also on this night, an in-depth presentation on how to file for aid and finance a Hilbert education will be addressed at a financial aid workshop. Federal, state and institutional financial aid will be explored, as well as assistance provided in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Families are encouraged to bring their tax records, W2s and other relevant information.
Refreshments will be served. Advance registration is requested by contacting the Office of Admissions at 649-7900, ext. 211 or 1-800-649-8003, or e-mail
