HAMBURG, N.Y. -- In celebration of Earth Day 2012, members of Hilbert College’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) organization will work on beautifying an area outside the Campus Center starting at 3:30 p.m. April 16 (weather permitting).
Using a red, white and blue theme, a campus garden setting will be set up with two blue and two white Adirondack chairs, a blue birdbath, a blue and white birdhouse, a picnic table, and pots planted with flowers fitting the color theme.
Students will also put down new gravel for the project, which is part of a campus-wide beautification Earth Day Challenge co-sponsored by Hilbert SADD and the Student Government Association. Various student clubs, college offices and departments have been sprucing up space around campus with first and second place winners to be selected on April 23 by a panel of faculty and staff.
