Hilbert put runs on the board first after Katie Pettis’ single sent Natalie Whitman home during the Hawks second trip on offense. Kateland Ball’s base hit single scored Collier to end Hibert’s push in the top of the second inning. La Roche responded with single runs in both the bottom of the second and third innings prior to their five-run fourth inning tear. The RedHawks’ McLay homered in the bottom of the sixth driving in two runs to stretch the lead to eight runs. Devan Jonathan tossed a complete game through 5.2 innings and gave up 14 hits.
Elissa Hall went two for three in the second stanza and scored two runs through the seven inning contest. Each team scored runs in five of the innings, but the Hawks surrendered three runs in four-straight defensive trips to the field.
