2012 AMCC ALL-Conference Team
PITTSBURGH, PA- Hilbert College’s Rachel Collier was named a 2012 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Conference selection. Collier landed on the Third Team after a successful first year offensively pacing the Hawks at the plate and defensively from first base. Ashley Gruber (Penn State Behrend) and Jalisa Westover (Mount Aloysius) were named Co-Players of the Year while Kelly Chambers (Penn State Altoona) grabbed the Newcomer of the Year award. D’Youville’s Hannah Norton, for the second time in two year, was honored as the AMCC Pitcher of the Year and Penn State Behrend’s Stacy Pondo was once again selected as the AMCC Coach of the Year, her third selection in eight seasons.
The Peru, NY native led the Hawks with a .483 batting average and with a .551 on-base percentage with only four strike outs through sixty at-bats. She finished tied for fourth on the team with 29 hits and tied for first on the team with 9 walks. She had a .600 average with runners in scoring position and a .675 success rate of advancing runners. Her .963 fielding percentage (only three errors) and 72 putouts placed her second on the team, directly behind the Hawks starting catcher.
Hilbert, under first year head coach Lisa Baker, finished the 2012 campaign with an improved 8-19 overall record with a 4-14 AMCC year.
