HAMBURG, NY - Trevor Stark, a sophomore basketball player, has been named the Hilbert College Student-Athlete of the Month for December 2012.
The 5-11 point guard averaged 15.0 points, 3 assists and 2.2 rebounds as he guided the Hawks to a 4-1 record in the final month of basketball in 2012. Stark was a consistent shooter, crafting a .500 field goal percentage after taking the second most shots on the team in December (29 of 58). He further led the Hawks in attempts behind the three-point line and finished making seven of eighteen (.389). The lefty was perfect at the charity stripe hitting all ten attempts. The Queens, NY native scored 75 points, dished for 15 assists, and swiped five steals in his 26.2 minutes per game.
Stark lit-it-up against Keystone College when he stormed the Giants for 27 points and finished with three assists in 35 minutes during Hilbert’s 75-73 road win. Stark came off the bench and netted 16 points in Hilbert’s only AMCC loss this season at Medaille College in early December.
Currently, Hilbert’s over record is 9-2 and they sit in a four-way tie for first place in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference with a 3-1 tab. The Hawks are off to the programs fastest start in history.
