PITTSBURGH, PA - Hilbert College’s Natalie Whitman was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference softball Player of the Week April 8th, marking the second time a Hawk player has been recognized by the league office this season.
Whitman led Hilbert to a 3-1 week against AMCC opponents, hitting .417 with 5 RBIs. She whacked a grand slam in Hilbert’s 8-2 victory over La Roche on Saturday and followed that effort the next day. Hilbert claimed a first-time ever, double-header sweep over Penn State Behrend. In the opening game against the Lions, Whitman took the circle and pitched 4.2 innings to earn the win. She was also a force at the plate hitting a late-game double in the bottom of the eighth to secure the 12-11 win.
