The program is designed for those who want to advance their career within the field of criminal justice, but can’t take traditional on-campus classes due to their work schedules.
“The program offers students the opportunity to earn a quality education, from a well-respected institution, with the flexibility to work within your lifestyle,” said Martin Floss, Ph.D., Professor and Director of the Criminal Justice Administration Graduate Program. Dr. Floss was a Federal Reviewer for the Buffalo Police Department.
Hilbert College has been a leader in criminal justice education for over 40 years and a master’s education at Hilbert will prepare students to become leaders in the criminal justice community. This program is designed to enhance critical thinking and problem solving skills in the areas of administration, management, budget & finance, research, decision-making, ethics, diversity, and organizational change.
“This program will promote interaction with industry peers,” said Mark Paoni, Ed.D., Professor of Criminal Justice. “Our professors offer access to a vast network of law enforcement professionals, including key contacts in Erie and Monroe Counties. This interaction is essential in expanding the student’s network amongst criminal justice professionals.” Dr. Paoni is a retired Road Patrol Deputy in the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
Hilbert’s new online program will also give students the opportunity to expand their knowledge base and practical understanding in all areas of law enforcement, courts, correctional, probation, and emergency management and education.
The same expert faculty who teach in the traditional on-campus program also teach many of Hilbert’s online criminal justice master’s courses. These faculty members lend their expertise to a broad range of government and nongovernmental agencies. Their professional experience enriches their courses and prepares graduates for workplace success.
Hilbert's new online program is extremely convenient and flexible. Classes start six times per year and the GRE is not required. Financial Aid is available and the Law Enforcement scholarship is available for those working in the field, including police, corrections, military, and others. The online criminal justice administration program is open to NYS residents.
