The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released the 2016 Women's Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player, Rookie and Coach of the Year honors as well as the three All-Conference Teams today and the Hawks from Hilbert grabbed a few good ones.
The 2016 Hilbert women's soccer team received five honors, the most in the program's thirteen-year history in the AMCC league. The Hawks' turnaround season was recognized and rewarded by the ten league coaches who vote annually.
Head coach Kelly Starchok was named Coach of the Year, senior Jennifer Colvin and junior Brooklynn Gormel were selected to the 1st Team All-Conference, junior Jenna Castricone was placed on the 2nd Team and second-year senior Shannon Rogers grabbed a spot on the 3rd Team.
The success the Hawks achieved this fall was of no surprise to the women's soccer team. Fueled by senior leadership and personal accountability by everyone on the team, Coach Kelly Starchok took a pre-season 10th-place picked team and turned them into contenders.
