Jenna Dulak Recognized for Expertise in Education Technology
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jenna Dulak, Director of Web Services and Online Technology at Hilbert College, was selected to participate in the Blackboard MVP Program. Run by education technology leader Blackboard Inc., the program consists of faculty members, administrators, educators, and instructional designers who have proven themselves as leaders in the education technology community. They regularly demonstrate expertise in Blackboard technologies, share their expertise with other clients, and actively share feedback with Blackboard on the company’s products and services.
Dulak is also an adjunct instructor for the professional studies division and the chairperson for staff senate at Hilbert College. Dulak is the recent recipient of a faculty mini grant at Hilbert to attend the national Blackboard conference, BbWorld17, in New Orleans later this month. Dulak will present on two national panels: “Leveraging Blackboard solutions for program assessment: Four perspectives” which will focus on Hilbert’s use of e-portfolios for institutional assessment, and “Moving to SaaS: How to get from point A to point B” which will discuss Hilbert’s successful migration from self-hosting to SaaS. Dulak is also hosting a regional meeting at the conference for the Western New York Blackboard Users Group (WNYBUG). Dulak is the founder and co-chair of the regional group that includes over 20 institutions within the Western New York area.
Dulak received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Security and Information Assurance from Hilbert College. She also has a Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing and Communication from St. Bonaventure University, and a Master of Science in Networking and Systems Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Niagara University.
Members of the Blackboard MVP Program are selected through a competitive application process and possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledgeable: MVPs stand out as experts in either technical aspects or application of Blackboard technologies.
- Engaged: MVPs demonstrate leadership in the community and foster a collaborate community of users by volunteering to present, lead and share readily.
- Accessible: MVPs represent the voice of the community and openly share feedback with Blackboard. They are accessible to help other clients in a timely manner.
- Collaborative: MVPs are committed to answering questions, sharing best practices, knowledge of Blackboard products and their expertise with the educational community. They work with their fellow Blackboard users to improve the application of Blackboard technologies for the benefit of all users and education overall.
Members of the Blackboard MVP Program receive exclusive access to professional development trainings and are invited to private product briefings and roadmap sessions with Blackboard executives. They will also share their expertise by answering questions and assisting other users on the Blackboard Community site and through their own personal blogs, Blackboard blogs, social media, Tweetups, virtual office hours and more.
