HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College has named Kathleen M. Christy to the position of Vice President of Institutional Advancement. She will be a member of the college’s senior leadership team and responsible for all development and advancement activities and alumni relations for the college. The appointment will be effective May 1, 2019.
Prior to joining Hilbert, Christy served as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at D’Youville College. She completed the largest capital campaign in the college’s history, raising over $21 million. Christy was also responsible for grants administration, government relations, and the public theater located on campus.
“We are thrilled to have a leader of Kathleen’s caliber to serve in this vital role for Hilbert College,” Hilbert President Michael S. Brophy, Ph.D., M.F.A. said. “Her extensive experience and knowledge of Western New York philanthropy will be invaluable for our Office of Institutional Advancement.”
Christy has also served as the Executive Director of The BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund, Inc., a tuition assistance program for low-income children (K-8th grade) to attend a private school of choice. She was the Regional Marketing Coordinator for the Private Clients Group of FleetBoston Financial Group and served as Director of Development for Buffalo General Hospital.
She is a founding member of Girls on the Run – Buffalo and a past board chair and volunteer leader. Christy is a member of the Diocese of Buffalo Education Advisory Board and a member of the New York State Invest in Education Foundation. She is also a member of multiple professional organizations, including Western New York Planned Giving Consortium, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and Leadership Buffalo (Class of 2004).
Christy is a graduate of the College of Saint Rose in Albany.
