November 2010 Athlete of the Month
Keon Rembert and Julie Bossard
Junior basketball players Keon Rembert and Julie Bossard have been named the Hilbert College Co-Student-Athletes of the Month for November, 2010.
The 6-7 Rembert returned to Hilbertafter serving four years in the Army and helped lead the Hawks to a 2-3 non-conference record in his first month of collegiate competition. He averaged 10.2 ppg and 8.4 rpg during the month of November with his team leading 50% field goal shooting percentage and 8 blocks. Rembert’s best overall game was against Alfred University when he score 21 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and shot 6-8 from the floor and 9-12 from the charity stripe. Against Oberlin, the team captain netted 15 points and cleaned the glass for 17 boards in the team’s triple over-time victory. For those efforts, Rembert was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week on November 29th.
Rembert (Bennetsville, SC/Archbishop Walsh) is a criminal justice major.
Bossard had the best of month in her basketball career this November. The 6-0 forward averaged a double-double (11.4 ppg, 10 rpg) as the team-leader in minutes played per game (33.4), field goal percentage (42.9%), and was the AMCC league leader in blocks (13) for the 1-4 Hawks. She had a monster game against the College of New Rochelle with 22 points and 14 rebounds in 39 minutes of play helping the Hawks earn their first victory of the season. This marks the first time the multi-sport athlete has been recognized for her outstanding efforts.
Bossard (Arkport, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood) is a psychology major and carries a 3.28 cumulative GPA.
