HAMBURG, NY – Incoming Hilbert College men’s basketball players Dave Shuey (Burt, NY/Newfane) and Trey Sherrie (Wilson, NY/Newfane) recently returned home from an international basketball tournament in the Dominican Republic. The two future Hawks competed as members of Team USA while on their week-long trip to the Caribbean region.

The freshmen duo competed in four tournament games with Shuey, a 6’6 forward and Sherrie, a 6’1 guard both averaging close to 10.0 ppg each. Team USA finished the eight day event with a 2-2 record, and all squad members had the opportunity to work with some of the country’s youth while serving as basketball instructors. Sponsored by 365 Sports, the trip featured an intense training session in Raleigh, NC before departing for competition.
