The Hilbert College men’s soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Penn State Altoona, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 2-7 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
The Hawks trailed at half 2-0, and gave up the insurance goal in the 73rd minute.
“Aside from some marking errors, I thought this game was closer than the 3-0 scored indicated,” said head coach Tim Kronenwetter. “I was pleased with the fact that we made them make 5 saves.”
Sophomore keeper Eric Davies (Tonawanda, NY/Tonawanda) turned in another strong effort recording 9 saves on the afternoon.
The Hawks return to action Oct. 4 at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
