HAMBURG, NY – The Golden Flyers of Nazareth College took care of the Hilbert College men’s volleyball team 30-12, 30-24, 30-17 last night to improve to 16-7 in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA). The NECVA’s 6th ranked team forced 19 attacking errors on the night while sending the Hawks to 2-11 overall and 0-5 in the NECVA West Division.
Hilbert’s Craig Kilgore (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) led the Hawks with eight kills and seven assists while Bobby Gerhard (Angola, NY/Lake Shore) chipped in with five kills, 10 assists and four digs.
“We tried to stay in it by making some nice hustle plays, but they (Nazareth) served well and were very aggressive at the net”, commented Hawks coach Charlie Brittain.
The Hawks will closeout the regular season at home Thursday night against D’Youville College, the NECVA’s fourth ranked team, at 7:00 PM at the Hafner Recreation Center.
