Volleyball Hawks succumb to Spartans

BUFFALO, NY – The Hilbert College men’s volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to divisional foe and local rival D’Youville College on Wednesday night. The visiting Hawks fell 20-30, 19-30, and 17-30 while watching their overall record drop to 1-11.

Despite strong performances by seniors Robert Gerhard (Angola, NY/Lake Shore) and Kevin Murphy (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon), Hilbert watched their North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) record fall to 1-5 on the season. Gerhard had a team-high nine kills and six digs while Murphy added 19 assists in a losing effort.

The Hawks will next play host to Medaille College on Wednesday March 12th at 7:00 PM in the Hafner Recreation Center.
