HAMBURG, NY – Medaille College ran its record to 13-9 overall and 5-3 in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) West Division with a 3-0 sweep of Hilbert College Wednesday night. The host Hawks dropped the first game 30-15 before falling 30-17 and 30-24.
Robert Gerhard (Angola, NY/Lake Shore) was a bright spot for the Hawks with 11 kills and five digs while Kevin Murphy (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon) finished with 19 assists.
Hilbert (1-12, 1-5) will close out the regular season Thursday night at home against the nation’s sixth ranked program, Nazareth College (23-5, 7-0), with a start time of 7:00 pm at the Hafner Recreation Center. Murphy and fellow Hilbert senior Luke Whelan (Buffalo, NY/Lake Shore) will don the royal and white for the last time.
