Hawks Start Season With Win at Home

Hamburg, NY – The Hilbert College women’s basketball team topped visiting Chatham College 59-43 on Saturday to start the season 1-0.  The win also gives first year head coach Kara Rehbaum her first win on the Hawks sidelines. 


Junior Autumn Lee-Jeffries (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels) led all scorers with 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.  Sophomore Amy Anderson (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds while freshman Amanda McHale (Bradford, PA/Archbishop Walsh) had seven points and 12 rebounds in her rookie debut. 


The Hawks held a commanding 35-19 lead at the half and never trailed.  Hilbert owned a slight 51-48 advantage on the boards and nailed 17 of 28 free throw attempts.


The Hawks travel to Alfred University on Tuesday, November 23rd for a 5:00 PM game against the Saxons.
