Pittsburgh, PA – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released the All-Conference selections for the women’s basketball league March 1.   Hilbert College’s junior forward Julie Bossard (Arkport, NY/Canisteo-Greenwood) was selected to the 3rd Team All-Conference marking the first time she is honored by the AMCC for her athletic abilities. In 2009-10, Bossard was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, as selected by her peers.

Averaging almost thirty-two minutes a game on the court, it was unusual to see Bossard not involved in the game. She averaged 10.7 ppg and 8.6 rebounds per game earning 10 double-doubles for the year. The 6’0 forward led the Hawks in scoring ten of the 24 games (1-23), led in rebounds (207) and was second on the team in steals (27).   At the time of the AMCC selection, Bossard appeared in the NCAA National rankings for Division III women’s basketball players with 59 blocked shots which placed her at #35, averaging 2.5 bpg. In conference play, Bossard was ranked #17 in scoring, tied for #6 in rebounding, #5 in free throw percentage (76.5), and was ranked #2 in blocked shots. In the Hawks first win of the season against the College of New Rochelle (69-36), Bossard dominated the paint blocking three shots, grabbing 14 rebounds and scoring 22 points. Her most impressive game played all season was against Bradford (78-47 loss) in January when Bossard shot 13 for 19 from the floor (29 points), and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Head lining the 1st, 2nd and 3rd All-Conference teams are the Co-Newcomers  of the Year (Jessica Pitts, La Roche and Bianca Smiley, Medaille), the Players of the Year (Casey Stanton, Greensburg), Defensive Player of the Year (Amy Oldach) and Coach of the Year (Eddie Benton, La Roche).
