Jill Cole, She/ Hers, Assistant Dean of Students & Director of Residence Life
In July of 2016, Cole joined the Hilbert College community as the Director of Residence Life and Community Standards. As of September of 2020, Cole was promoted to the Assistant Dean of Students. Cole currently oversees the Office of Campus Involvement which includes; Student Involvement, Residence Life, Community Standards, Advisor to Student Government Association and staff member who oversees the Student Activities Fee. Cole is also the co-chair of the Campus' Care Team and Chairperson of Staff Senate, where she sits as a member of the Presidents Council and Budget Committee. Cole also served as one of the Co-Chairs to the College's COVID-19 Response Planning for the 2020-2021 year.
Prior to coming to Hilbert, Cole has served in various roles in the Office of Residence Life at Daemen College, including the Resident Coordinator, Assistant Director, Interim Director and Associate Director for Residential Education. Cole was also a consultant for Campus Labs, where she maintained a portfolio of 50 small colleges and universities providing education, training, and support on student affairs assessment, student engagement and the implementation of campus climate surveys.
Cole was deeply involved in the College Student Personnel Administrators of NYS (CSPA-NYS) as a member of the annual conference planning team, Chair of the New York State Leadership Educators Conference in 2019 and 2021 is the VP for Professional Development from 2019 to July of 2021. Cole is also the chair of the Western New York Private Housing Officers Consortium. Cole is an avid Buffalo Bill's fan and has a cat named Billy.
Cole holds a Bachelors in Business Economics, concentrated in Environmental Management with a minor in Geology from SUNY Cortland and her masters in Higher Education Administration and Adult Learning from Post University.
Alex Gill, He/ Him, Coordinator for Student Involvement
Gill joined the Campus Involvement Professional Staff in December of 2019. As an undergraduate student at Hilbert College, Gill had experience in Residence Life as a Resident Assistant (2019) and Residential Safety Associate (2016-2018). He was also deeply involved in the Club Hockey Team and led strong programmatic efforts including the first Hyperglow at Hilbert along with Hilbert raids Area 51.
Professionally, Gill served as the Resident Coordinator from December of 2019- May of 2021. In this role, Gill was responsible for the day to day operations of St. Joseph's Hall and the Campus Apartments. In addition, he oversaw large scale programs on campus, the department's office assistants, and served as the direct supervisor to the residential mail room.
As the Coordinator for Student Involvement, Gill is the go-to professional for clubs, organizations and campus programming. He is also the advisor to CAB (campus activities board) and is the leadership behind traditions like Welcome Week, Fall Fest and BERT Fest. Gill will supervise the community efforts in upperclassmen residence halls, while serving as a member of the professional-on-call crisis management rotation.
Gill enjoys playing hockey, concerts, the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. Gill received his Bachelors of Science, in Criminal Justice in May of 2019 and Masters in Criminal Justice Administration from Hilbert College in May 2021.
Grace Adams, She/ Hers, Coordinator for Residence Life
In July of 2021, Adams returned to Hilbert College and joined Campus Involvement in the Coordinator for Residence Life role. In this role, Adams will be primarily responsible for the oversight of community development efforts for residential students. Responsibilities including programmatic initiatives, assessment of residential housing needs and revitalization projects, housing selection and operations while serving in the professional-on-call crisis management rotation.
Adams is an alumna of Hilbert College, Class of 2017 and was highly involved during her time as a student. She was on the women’s soccer team, participated in the leadership scholarship program, attended service trips, served as a Resident Assistant, peer leader and head peer leader, orientation leader, and interned with both Residence Life and Student Life offices.
Since graduating in 2017, Adams has held roles at different institutions broadening her higher education experiences. Adams spent summer of 2017 as an ACUHO-I intern at San Francisco State University as a Conferences and Events Services Coordinator. During graduate school from August 2017 to May 2019, Adams served as an LHE Intern in Adult Transfer & Military Services Office, Student Records Office, and Honors Program. After completing her masters degree, Adams worked at Elmira College in Elmira, NY as the Area Coordinator for Residence Life. Adams then transitioned to Springfield College in Springfield, MA as a Community Director in Housing and Residence Life.
Adams holds a Bachelors in Human Services with a minor in Leadership from Hilbert College, and a Masters of Arts in Education concentrated in Leadership in Higher Education from Baldwin Wallace University. Adams is a proud auntie and has a cat named Aspen. In her free time she serves as secretary for a non-profit, WAHI Studio, and enjoys time with her family.
Sarah Bauch, She/ Hers, Graduate Coordinator for Campus Involvement
Bauch joined the Campus Involvement Professional Staff in August of 2021. Bauch graduated from Niagara University in May of 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. While working in this role, Bauch will be studying at Buffalo State College to obtain her master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration in May of 2023.
Throughout her time at Niagara University, Bauch held may leadership positions that will help her serve in this role such as a Lead Community Advisor, Orientation Leader, Tour Guide, and Student Government representative. Bauch has held internships in the offices of Career Services and Student Affairs.
As the Graduate Assistant for Campus Involvement, Bauch is responsible for many tasks, but focuses heavily on residence life. Bauch is responsible for supervising Trinity Hall and its resident assistants, assisting with the professional staff on-call rotation, and supporting student life.
Bauch loves to hike in the Adirondacks, and has a cat named Shandi. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
