Dr. Siuta has a diverse range of experiences as a counselor and educator, both in agency and school counseling programs for twenty years. Prior to Hilbert, Dr. Siuta spent nine years at St. Bonaventure University as an Associate Professor as well as assisting the Counseling Center and Athletic Department on campus with counseling needs. He has held a private counseling practice for over fifteen years in the Western New York area, working with individuals, couples, families, and athletes, where he has a specialty interest in sport psychology. Dr. Siuta has consulted with professional, college, and high school sports teams in this area, including the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and Bandits. He has been invited to write two book chapters, peer review other resources over the years, and has been asked to give numerous workshops at conferences locally, regionally, and nationally in the areas of counseling and sport psychology.
Dr. Siuta’s approach and theoretical orientation to counseling utilizes Cognitive-Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. He has blended these two approaches to help individuals gain insight as to how thoughts influence behaviors and feelings, but to do so by also taking into account individual strengths and resources in a time-sensitive manner to create lasting personal change.
Dr. Siuta has a wife, Becky, two girls, Elizabeth and Gianna and an 11 year old black lab named Brooklyn to help take care of in his free time. He enjoys all sports, is an avid fan of time on the ocean, and travels to new places as much as possible with his family.
