McGrath Library’s Reference Desk is located at the main entrance of the learning commons. Librarians are available to help the campus community whenever the library is open! These services include, but are not limited to:

• Assistance using our online databases.
• Assistance locating and evaluating sources freely available online.
• Assistance using the Online Public Access Catalog [OPAC].
• Assistance locating physical library materials.
• Assistance integrating research sources into your own work (ie: citations, literature reviews).
• Support for developing research strategies and refining research questions.
• Guidance on avoiding plagiarism and understanding academic integrity.
• Help with interlibrary loan requests for materials not available in our collections.
• Assistance with using reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero).
• Technology support for using library computers, printers, and other equipment.
• Personalized research consultations by appointment.

Faculty Services

Our library offers a range of services to support faculty in their teaching and research. These include personalized research consultations, assistance with literature reviews, access to an extensive collection of digital and print resources, and information literacy instruction.

Kanopy Video Streaming

Kanopy Video is a streaming service made available to Hilbert College by McGrath Library.  

Kanopy uses a Patron-Driven Access Model for Invoices/Billing

• Videos are free until they are accessed 4 times (for more than 30 seconds).
• Once they are accessed 4 times within a calendar year a purchase is triggered.
• After a purchase is triggered, we have unlimited access to the video for only 365 days.
• Access to purchases is limited automatically. 

If you would like McGrath Library to investigate acquiring any of the videos on Kanopy in a permanent form (DVD), please fill out our form. Take advantage of any strategy that will minimize costs.
