A student learning about Business Management on the computer.

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Business Management, Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in business management arms students with a core knowledge of business and a marketable skill set to help them thrive in today’s challenging and highly competitive business environment.

The business management program is based on the critical knowledge and competencies you’ll need to manage successfully in the global economy. You will become skilled in organization, motivation, teamwork, networking, leadership and ethical decision-making.

Our integrated curriculum provides students with a broad liberal arts education and an understanding of the world of economics, business and industry. A minor in leadership is also available.

Students learn from professors with years of real-world business experience and acquire a firm foundation in accounting, finance, marketing, business law, planning, and information technology. Additional emphasis is placed on research, quantitative and statistical analysis, communication and leadership skills, global business and cross-cultural management.

In addition to the Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Hilbert offers a Bachelor of Science in:
  • Sports Industry Management
Associate degree
Hilbert also offers the Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Management, a two-year degree that prepares you for entry-level positions in business or for continued studies in a bachelor-level program.

The World is Your Classroom

Service trip to Dominican Republic

In order to bridge the gap between theory and practice, business management majors receive experiential training through fieldwork assignments and a strategic management course that serves as a capstone to their studies.

Business management students serve an internship their senior year, earning academic credit for the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical work experience. Time and time again, internships open doors to future employment for Hilbert students.

A major goal of the business management program is to help students develop a management skills portfolio (MSP). The portfolio demonstrates a student’s capabilities and is a valuable resource for pursuing management careers or graduate education and training in business and related areas.
