Hilbert College students travel to the Dominican Republic for a service learning trip.

Business Management

The Hilbert Difference

  • Conscientious advisement that ensures student progress and guides career development.
  • Caring faculty that foster the personal and professional growth of students through challenging and transformative experiences.
  • Distinctive service-learning opportunities that instill Franciscan values and parallel discipline specific coursework.
  • Required internships that provide valuable professional exposure in an organizational role related to student’s individual degree program.
  • Unique course curriculum and class projects that link theoretical concepts to practical applications in contemporary society.
  • Extensive number of student organizations (Enactus, Phi Beta Lambda, Rotaract, and Sigma Beta Delta) that provide co-curricular experiences to complement course work.

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in business management arms students with a core knowledge of business and a marketable skill set to help them thrive in today’s challenging and highly competitive business environment.

Service trip to Dominican RepublicThe business management program is based on the critical knowledge and competencies you’ll need to manage successfully in the global economy. You will become skilled in organization, motivation, teamwork, networking, leadership and ethical decision-making.

Our integrated curriculum provides students with a broad liberal arts education and an understanding of the world of economics, business and industry. A minor in leadership is also available.

Students learn from professors with years of real-world business experience and acquire a firm foundation in accounting, finance, marketing, business law, planning, and information technology. Additional emphasis is placed on research, quantitative and statistical analysis, communication and leadership skills, global business and cross-cultural management.

Hilbert’s 14-1 student-teacher ratio ensures that you’ll learn in friendly settings where you’re noticed and involved, not just a number in the crowd. Students at Hilbert get to know their professors, building relationships that often last long after graduation.

The world is your classroom

In order to bridge the gap between theory and practice, business management majors receive experiential training through fieldwork assignments and a strategic management course that serves as a capstone to their studies.

Business management students serve an internship their senior year, earning academic credit for the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical work experience. Time and time again, internships open doors to future employment for Hilbert students.

A major goal of the business management program is to help students develop a management skills portfolio (MSP). The portfolio demonstrates a student’s capabilities and is a valuable resource for pursuing management careers or graduate education and training in business and related areas.
