Attendance Procedures & Policies For Mass

Graduating students attending Mass should arrive by 10:30 am. Students should wear their black commencement gown. They should not wear their hoods or caps to Mass. At the conclusion of Mass, graduating students will report to Bogel Hall with all their required regalia (gown, hood, and cap).

Invited guests may head directly to Swan Auditorium to be seated.

The President’s Reception for graduates, family, and friends will immediately follow the Commencement Ceremony.

Attendance Procedures & Policies For Commencement

At the conclusion of Mass, graduating students will report to Bogel Hall with all their required regalia (gown, hood, and cap).  They must arrive by 1:00 pm. Upon their arrival in Bogel Hall, graduating students will be directed to their respective robing/staging area.

Graduating students arriving after 1:00 PM may not participate in Commencement.

Invitations provided to graduating students will serve as tickets for admittance to the Commencement Ceremony in the Hafner Recreation Center. Invitations may be retrieved at the conclusion of commencement as a keepsake.

Doors will open for invited guests at 1:15 pm for the Commencement Ceremony. To maximize the number of invited guests per graduate, the majority of guest seating will be bleacher seating in the Hafner Recreation Center. The guest seating area will be open/general seating, except for accessibility seating reserved in advance.

Invitations provided to graduating students will serve as tickets for admittance to the Commencement Ceremony in the Hafner Recreation Center. Each invited guest must provide a ticket in exchange for admission into the Commencement Ceremony.  Please note all children, regardless of age, must have a ticket to enter. Strollers are not permitted in the gym. We will have a designated area for them outside of the gym.

If needed, seating for up to two additional guests of graduating students will be available in Swan Auditorium to view the live stream of the Commencement Ceremony.

Tickets will be collected by Hilbert staff members upon entry. At the conclusion of the ceremony, collected invitations will be available for graduates and guests to take as mementos.

Location & Parking

Hilbert College is conveniently located just south of Buffalo in Hamburg, NY, easily accessible via the NYS Thruway. With free and ample parking, including designated event parking in Lot G, getting to campus is a breeze. Use the provided directions and campus map to navigate your visit.
