Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) represents the interests of the student body and encourages growth of self-government.
It also promotes responsibility, loyalty and cooperation among students with Hilbert faculty and administrative officers. The SGA functions through the Student Senate, which is an elected body composed of five Executive Board members and additional student representatives.
The Student Senate meets regularly about issues of concern to students and is responsible for the allocation of funds for student organizations and activities.

Why I Got Involved
“I got involved with the Student Government Association because a friend thought I would make a great candidate and wrote me in during voting. I knew I was interested in getting involved on campus, but I wasn’t sure how, and joining SGA was the perfect way for me to get involved on campus. The day I was written in as Sophomore Representative, I never would have imagined that I would enjoy SGA as much as I did. After my year as Sophomore Representative I never thought that I’d be Vice President of SGA. I have felt both humbled and challenged by my positions as Vice President, and I am glad that I can help students on campus, and help voice their concerns. SGA has helped me to become a more responsible individual, and a better team player. I’ve learned to work with others, while incorporating our differences”
Liz Pesante
SGA Vice President 2017-2019
