As Director of Dual Enrollment and Lifelong Learning at Hilbert College, I work with high school students every day who are eager to get ahead, and I’m passionate about sharing what we offer through our Dual Enrollment program.

What is Dual Enrollment?

Dual enrollment allows your student to take college-level courses while still completing their high school education—right at their high school campus, during the regular school day. When your student completes one of our courses, they earn both high school credit and college credit simultaneously. It’s truly a win-win opportunity.

Here’s what makes this special: These are genuine Hilbert College courses taught by approved instructors, giving students an authentic college experience without leaving the familiar support of their high school environment.

The Real Benefits for Your Family

I want to share with you why families across our region are choosing dual enrollment:

• Save Time and Money
  By earning college credits before graduation, your student can graduate earlier, focus on advanced coursework in their major, or pursue additional concentrations—all at significantly reduced costs. Our 2025-2026 dual enrollment rate is just $90 per credit, compared to traditional college tuition. That’s meaningful savings for your family.
• Build Confidence and College Readiness
  Students who participate in dual enrollment report higher confidence when they transition to college. They’ve already experienced college-level academics, know what professors expect, and have proven they can handle the rigor. Research shows that dual enrollment students have higher GPAs and are more likely to graduate from college.

  This is an ideal time for your student to explore different subjects and discover what they’re passionate about. Whether it’s business, criminal justice, the arts, sciences, or another field, they can test these interests while still in high school. This early exploration often leads to clearer career direction.

  The credits earned through Hilbert’s dual enrollment program transfer to our college degree programs and are recognized by other colleges and universities across the country. (Of course, we always recommend students verify transfer policies with their intended transfer institution.)

  Your student will take Hilbert College courses taught by qualified high school instructors approved by Hilbert. These courses have the same guidelines and learning outcomes as our on-campus classes. Through this partnership, students gain authentic college-level learning experiences and personalized support that prepares them for future success.
