Hilbert College has developed  4 + 1 programs for undergraduate students that allow those who qualify academically to enroll in graduate courses their senior year at Hilbert for the following programs:

4+1 Programs

Criminal Justice BS & Master of Criminal Justice Administration

Criminal justice majors may pursue the two-year Associate in Arts degree and security management certificate, which allows you to enter the criminal justice field or pursue a bachelor-level program, or the four-year Bachelor of Science degree. The bachelor-level program allows students to select from among eight concentrations, such as Investigations, Family Violence and Juvenile Justice.

In addition, Hilbert offers the innovative combined BS/MS program, a “4+1” plan that lets students earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in criminal justice administration in five years. Students are admitted to the graduate school after completing all undergraduate degree requirements and are not required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

Forensic Science BS & Master of Criminal Justice Administration

Hilbert’s innovative combined 4+1 BS/MS program lets students earn a bachelor’s degree in forensic science: crime scene investigation and a master’s degree in criminal justice administration in five years.

Students are admitted to the program after completing all undergraduate degree requirements, without the need to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Students begin taking graduate-level courses during their final year of undergraduate study, then complete program requirements in the fifth year.

Political Science BS & Master of Public Administration

Hilbert’s unique 4+1 BS/MPA program lets you earn your bachelor’s degree in political science and your master’s in public administration in five years, saving you up to two semesters of graduate school.

Students are admitted to the graduate program after completing all undergraduate degree requirements, without the need to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), and begin taking graduate courses during their final year of undergraduate studies. Learn more about the MPA program.

Human Services BS & Master of Public Administration

Our innovative BS/MPA 4+1 program lets you earn your bachelor’s degree in human services and a Master of Public Administration: Health Administration in five years, saving you up to two semesters of graduate school. Students are admitted to the program after completing all undergraduate degree requirements, without the need to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), and begin taking graduate courses in their senior year.

Master of Education Program with Hilbert College & Canisius University

Hilbert College, in partnership with Canisius University, is excited to offer an accelerated 4+1 pathway to a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) and New York State teaching certifications. This innovative program allows you to earn your bachelor's degree in English or Liberal Studies and a master degree in Education just five years, saving you time and resources.
