Applied Artificial Intelligence, Micro-Credential
This hands-on, six-week workshop is designed to help you confidently understand and use Generative AI in ways that elevate your career, strengthen your business impact, and simplify your day-to-day work.
Whether you’re completely new to AI or already experimenting with tools like ChatGPT, this program takes you from fundamentals to advanced, real-world application. You’ll learn not just what AI can do, but how to use it safely, strategically, and effectively without risking accuracy, credibility, or trust.
Each week combines practical instruction with guided, hands-on workshops so you leave with usable skills, repeatable workflows, and tools you can apply immediately. On-campus attendance is encouraged for the best experience, with a live virtual option available.

Program Structure
Topic: Origins, Capabilities, and Limitations of ChatGPT, including the real-world risks of AI hallucinations, bias, and overconfidence in AI-generated outputs
In Week 1, we’ll build a strong foundation for using Generative AI the right way, starting with how tools like ChatGPT actually work and what they are designed to do. You’ll learn where Gen AI came from, why it can feel “human,” and why that can also be risky if you don’t understand its limitations.
We’ll also go deeper into the biggest risk most professionals face when using Gen AI: AI hallucinations. These are moments where the tool produces information that sounds confident and believable, but is inaccurate, incomplete, or entirely made up. We’ll explore why hallucinations happen, what triggers them, and how to catch them before they create real-world problems.
Topic: Streamlining Repetitive Tasks with Advanced Prompt Engineering and High-Impact Use Cases
Week 2 is a deep dive into prompt engineering, designed to help you move beyond basic prompting and into real mastery. Instead of relying on trial and error, you’ll learn the proven techniques top prompt engineers use to consistently get accurate, useful, high-quality outputs from ChatGPT.
This session focuses on building repeatable workflows that eliminate friction in your day-to-day work. We’ll target the tasks that consume the most time each week, including writing, summarizing, planning, organizing, and follow-up communication, then show you how to build prompts that make those tasks faster, easier, and more consistent.
Topic: Personalizing ChatGPT and Automating Tasks with Custom GPTs, Projects, and Chatbots (No Coding Required)
Week 3 is where everything becomes personal, practical, and scalable. Instead of using ChatGPT as a generic tool, you’ll learn how to turn it into your AI assistant: one that matches your voice, understands your priorities, and produces output in the format you actually need.
This session focuses on building what I call “ChatGPT-Me”: a personalized version of ChatGPT that reflects your tone, communication style, and expectations. From there, we’ll take it further by building chatbots and automation tools using both:
- Custom GPTs (MyGPT / GPT Builder)
- ChatGPT’s Project feature (so you can build chatbot-style workflows inside organized project spaces)
By the end of the session, you won’t just “use AI,” you’ll be building AI tools that support real work and real outcomes.
Topic: Image Generation, Deep Research Workflows, Agent Mode, Canvas (AI-Assisted Document Writing), and Real-Time Voice + Vision Through the ChatGPT Mobile App
Week 4 is a deep dive into the most powerful features inside ChatGPT, with a focus on using them in practical, real-world ways. This is where ChatGPT goes from “a chat tool” to a true productivity platform that can support research, content creation, document drafting, visuals, and even hands-free interaction.
We’ll explore how these advanced tools work, when to use them, and how to get better outcomes by combining features together into repeatable workflows.
Topic: Practical Use Cases for Leading Generative AI Tools (Gemini, Copilot, Claude, NotebookLM, Sora, HeyGen, Bland AI, and More)
Week 5 expands your toolkit beyond ChatGPT so you can confidently choose the right AI tool for the right job. Not every platform is built for the same purpose, and this session is designed to help you understand the strengths, weaknesses, and best use cases of the most popular Generative AI tools available today.
We’ll focus on practical applications, real workflows, and decision-making. The goal is to help you avoid wasting time jumping between tools, and instead build a simple “AI stack” you can rely on for writing, research, document review, meetings, voice/video creation, and automation.
Topic: Capstone + Integration Leadership
Week 6 is where everything comes together. This session is designed to help you confidently step into the role of the “AI specialist” inside your organization, not just as someone who knows the tools, but as someone who can help integrate AI into real workflows and drive adoption across the company.
This isn’t just about learning AI. It’s about being able to lead with it, communicate it clearly, and become the person others rely on for direction, best practices, and real results.
