The Leadership Scholarship Program utilizes workshops, speakers, and adventure programs to help students identify and enhance their leadership potential. Students are selected based upon applications and interviews and receive a scholarship in the amount of $750 per semester. This scholarship can be carried for four years of Hilbert College enrollment provided the student meets all program requirements and maintains a minimum of a 2.50 grade point average.
This is not a typical scholarship program; this program includes more than just accepting scholarship money. Along the way there will be a lot of work. All students accepted into the program must enroll in and successfully complete GS 160, Introduction to Leadership, in their first semester. Students must also participate in one on-campus organization, and complete a series of events that are designed to help them prepare professional leadership skills over a four-year period of study. These events include lectures by distinguished leaders, leadership skill-building workshops, and outdoor adventure programs as well as community service programs.
