HAMBURG, NY — Hilbert College has announced an expanded tuition policy aimed at making higher education more affordable for veterans and military-aligned students enrolled in on-ground programs.
Beginning in the 2026 – 2027 academic year, veterans and currently enlisted service members will qualify for a special tuition rate capped at the annual Post-9/11 GI Bill® private school limit, which is $30,908 for 2026 – 2027.
The updated policy is designed to eliminate out-of-pocket tuition gaps that some veteran students previously faced when tuition exceeded the annual GI Bill cap.
Eligible students must provide a DD 214 or equivalent documentation to the Admissions Office. The tuition rate currently applies to veterans, enlisted service members, and reservists, but not dependents or spouses.
Hilbert College will also continue participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which may help cover remaining tuition costs for students whose expenses exceed the Post 9/11 GI Bill cap, including summer coursework.
Military-aligned students will remain eligible for institutional scholarships and aid. In addition, students using veteran education benefits will not incur late fees while benefits are being processed.
