Hilbert College announced a new partnership with Heard of Buffalo, led by owner Amanda Bruckman, that will bring the weekly Trainwreck Sports podcast directly to campus. The collaboration establishes an on-campus creative production hub where students gain hands-on experience alongside professional creators.

The partnership will integrate members of the Trainwreck and Heard of Buffalo production teams into Hilbert’s campus studio environment, allowing students to work on live shows, digital content, commercial shoots, and social media storytelling.

“We want to create an environment where students can explore all aspects of production, discover what they gravitate toward, and gain meaningful opportunities for advancement and development,” said Amanda Bruckman, Owner of Bruckman Media and Heard of Buffalo.

Heard of Buffalo currently generates over 1 million monthly views through original series, community programming, sports coverage, and entertainment content. Their team, which includes a few Hilbert students, plans to integrate more students into their workflow.

Hands-On Learning Meets Real Production Workflows

Beginning in early 2026, Hilbert’s Digital Media & Communication (DMAC) and production students will participate in weekly immersive sessions covering:

  • Professional camera operation and on-set preparation
  • Studio and subject lighting
  • Live and pre-produced show workflow
  • Creative brief development and campaign structuring
  • Editing fundamentals and content packaging
  • On-camera interviewing and hosting experience

Faculty will work in collaboration with Heard of Buffalo to help identify motivated students for recurring production labs, giving them the opportunity to build professional reels and portfolios before graduation.

“This partnership delivers a one-of-a-kind opportunity in New York State,” said Michael R. Cornell, Interim President of Hilbert College. “Hilbert places Digital Media and Communication students inside a professional, on-campus production environment, working alongside Heard of Buffalo’s creative team to gain real-world, career-ready experience with industry experts who know exactly what today’s employers demand.”

Boosting Hilbert’s Marketing Reach and Student Voice

In addition to academic collaboration, Bruckman Media will support Hilbert’s Marketing & Communications team in developing content for social media, program promotion, student testimonials, and enrollment-focused campaigns. The partnership provides the College with access to a full creative agency, complete with strategists, directors, editors, and digital storytellers, while empowering students to tell Hilbert’s story through their own lens.

“The next generation of creatives has been awesome to learn from. Their intuitive understanding of social platforms teaches us a ton every day,” Bruckman said.

Expanding Creative Capacity on Campus

With Bruckman Media’s main studio just five minutes from Hilbert, the partnership also helps relieve space constraints for the growing Heard of Buffalo network. In return, the College gains a full-scale production team ready to collaborate on marketing initiatives, student internships, live events, and campus storytelling throughout the year.
