Campus Services

Escort Service

Campus safety offers on-campus escorts to members of the Hilbert community who may feel uneasy about walking alone on campus property. Any student, faculty member or staff may request an escort by calling campus safety at (716) 479-1233 or from any of the emergency phones.

Key & Fob Requests

Authorized Hilbert College supervisors can fill out our form to request keys/fobs for their employees. Once available, an email will be sent out to both parties.  All issued keys must be signed for by the person to whom keys are issued at the Campus Safety Office. A Hilbert College photo ID is required to be shown.

Requests for fobs will follow the same procedure except for residential students. Resident students need to  submit their request to the Director of Residence Life.

Lost and Found

If you lost an item (keys, backpack, eyeglasses, etc.) on campus, stop by campus safety in the campus center or call (716) 479-1233 to see if it has been turned in. Found items may be brought to the campus safety office.

Campus Courses

Safety Courses

Safety courses are taught by certified and authorized campus safety officers in:
  • Crime prevention and the Jeanne Clery Act
  • Stop the Bleed (Training) is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
  • Narcan (Training) is a brand name for naloxone, a medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. It can very quickly restore normal respiration to a person whose breathing has slowed or stopped as a result of overdosing with heroin or prescription opioid pain medications.

To learn more about these courses, contact campus safety at (716) 479-1233 or e-mail us.

Campus Programs

SHARE Program

Hilbert College promotes the respect for the dignity and integrity of each person. Hilbert is deeply committed to equal opportunity and tolerant, supportive learning and working environment. Hilbert College complies fully with all applicable federal and state legislation including Title IX of the educational Amendments of 1972, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Violence Against Women Act, the New York Human Rights Law, and New York State’s Enough is Enough. Pursuant to these statuses and regulations, the college prohibits all acts of sexual misconduct. This policy is intended to educate the Hilbert community about these issues and thereby prevent such incidents from occurring and also explain the way in which the College will respond to incidents in the event they do occur.

Actions taken at Hilbert:

Hilbert College’s committee on Sexual Health And Relationship Education facilitates and supports college actions in keeping with Hilbert’s long standing commitment to preventing and responding to sexual violence as well as making the campus safe for students, faculty, and staff.

Review our pages on definitions, healthy relationship signs, resources, reporting, Student's Bill of Rights, and Title IX: Enough is Enough.

Campus Climate Survey:

New York State passed Education Law Article 129B on July 7, 2015.  This law, commonly referred to as “Enough is Enough”, is aggressive legislation designed to take a stand against sexual violence on college campuses.  In accordance with Enough is Enough, Hilbert College conducts a biannual campus climate survey.  The survey is conducted to ascertain general awareness and knowledge of the provisions of Enough is Enough, including student experience with and knowledge of reporting and college adjudicatory processes.
