Academic Advisement
Academic advisement at Hilbert is a collaborative effort between faculty and staff, designed to support students holistically throughout their educational journey. Our mission is to guide students in becoming self-directed, responsible decision-makers capable of achieving their academic, personal, and career goals.
What to Expect from Advisement
All students are assigned an academic advisor and are required to meet each semester to:
- Review academic progress
- Discuss course selection for the upcoming term
- Revisit personal and professional goals
- Receive registration authorization
Students cannot register for classes without meeting with their assigned advisor.
Advisement Process For:
All continuing students are assigned a faculty advisor within their academic department. First-year students in their first semester are assigned to their BLU 101 instructor. Advisor assignments are updated each semester following the drop/add period and prior to the start of the next advisement cycle.
To find your advisor:
- Login to Self-Service
- Navigate to Registration
- Click on My Schedule
Students must meet with their assigned advisor each semester to discuss academic progress and plan their schedule. Students may only register once they’ve been cleared by their advisor.
