PEER LEADER PROGRAM
Hilbert College's Peer Leader Program is committed to enhancing student development by encouraging growth in the areas of leadership, communication, self-direction, and problem-solving.
Most importantly, through this opportunity of service, peer leaders play a pivotal role in aiding freshman students in successfully navigating their transition from high school to college by providing the tools and knowledge necessary for them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
Hilbert students on Peer Leadership
Freshmen on their peer leaders:
The GS 101 peer leader provided me with support not only through my freshman year but through my career at Hilbert. Joe Pernick
In GS 101 the peer leader was someone who was able to help in the transition by sharing their experiences.
Chelsea Perkins
My interaction with my peer leader was the most memorable experience about my GS 101 class. We still keep in touch today and she helped me get through my freshman year successfully.
Rachel Collier
Peer leaders on the experience:
Being a peer leader and assisting the professor in the classroom was a great experience. I was able to help students both inside and outside the classroom. I would do it all over again if I could. Dominique Washington
Being a peer leader was a rewarding experience for me because it was nice to know that I was able to help students with the transition into a school that I loved. I also learned what it’s like to be a professor too!
Caitlin Queen
Becoming a peer leader allowed me to make sure that new freshmen felt right at home. Being a role model in the classroom and a positive influence to each of my GS 101 students was a truly rewarding experience.
