As an international student, we invite you to become a part of our close-knit community with outstanding academic programs and a welcoming learning environment.
To become a Hilbert student, you must have a command of the English language as classes at the College are conducted in English and your assignments, papers, and tests must be written in acceptable English.
Admission Checklist
STEP 1 – VISIT CAMPUS or TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR
The best way to discover if Hilbert College is by visiting campus! Since all international students are not able to travel great distances, we offer our virtual tour to show them around campus!
STEP 2 – APPLY FOR UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS
STEP 3 – SUBMIT APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
Required documents:
- Proof of English Language Proficiency. In order to be considered for admission, results of a recent TOEFL exam should be submitted to Hilbert College; a minimum score of 500 (PBT) or 70 (IBT) is required. An average of a 5.4 or better on the IELTS is also acceptable.
- NEW! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ETS is proud to introduce a solution for students who have been impacted by the coronavirus to take the TOEFL iBT® test at home until test centers can reopen. Testing will be conducted through the use of live remote proctoring serviced by ProctorU®. This high-touch, real-time human monitoring of test sessions limits the number of seats available. Please click here for more information.
*English-speaking, Canadian students are exempt from this requirement.
- Submit official high school/secondary school transcripts and academic records verifying successful completion of secondary education. All official transcripts must be in English and converted into a USA grading format using one of the following services:
Please note: Documents in English from Ontario, Canada secondary schools, colleges, and universities do not require use of these services. The cost of these services is the responsibility of the student.
- If you will be transferring course credits from a foreign university to Hilbert, we will need you to submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions that you attend(ed) with course descriptions or syllabi (in English) in order to evaluate your credit. Transcripts without course descriptions or syllabi are acceptable for admission purposes but will not be evaluated for possible transfer credit.
STEP 4 - COMPLETE THE I-20 PAPERWORK and APPLICATION AFTER RECEIVING YOUR ACCEPTANCE TO THE COLLEGE
- Please print out the forms, fill out the information requested and attach any supporting documents required. Students must be accepted to Hilbert College before an I-20 can be processed. Current F1 visa holders must speak with their current Designated School Official (DSO) to arrange for their I-20 to be transferred to Hilbert College.
- Submit the mandatory $275 enrollment deposit. This deposit is required before the I-20 application can be processed/issued. It will secure your place in our on-campus housing as well as your place in the incoming class.
STEP 5 - OBTAIN THE F1 VISA
This process can take several weeks to complete so it's important to allow enough time, prior to the start of your intended term. Instructions on how to complete this process can be found here.
