Bio:
Professor Reilly Nowak received her Master of Forensic Science degree from the George Washington University and spent 10 years working in the field of Medicolegal Death Investigation, 5 of these as Chief Investigator. During this time she coordinated and implemented a death investigation system and two National Institute of Justice (NIJ) grants to modernize the facilities at the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office and Toxicology Laboratory. She also served on a national advisory board for standards and best practices in her field. She began teaching at Hilbert as an Adjunct Instructor in 2007 and in her 11 years has advanced to Associate Professor of Forensic Science. She has served on many committees, both departmental and college-wide, and has been CJ Studies Division Chairperson since 2018. She continues to serve through administration, teaching, and research and voluntary casework in missing and unidentified persons, which she has presented at multiple national conferences.
