Hilbert College published an update for its most recent college-wide strategic plan. This update showcases the current activities and progress they’ve implemented to meet its 2025 vision plan.

The Hilbert College Hawks football team will play against Gallaudet University this Saturday, Oct. 7 at 12 p.m. ET. at Hotchkiss Field in Washington DC. AT&T and Gallaudet University, the global leader in bilingual education for deaf and hard of hearing students, have collaborated to create the first 5G-connected football helmet—making the game more inclusive by enhancing on-field communication for student-athletes who use American Sign Language. The helmet will be used for the first time in NCAA Division III competition during Gallaudet’s home game against Hilbert College.

Hilbert College is proud to announce its involvement in the College Cost Transparency Initiative (CCT), a coalition of more than 360* institutions of higher education that have voluntarily committed to follow a set of principles and standards that ensure transparency, clarity, and understanding around student financial aid offers. Together, these institutions serve more than 3.5 million college students in the United States.

Hilbert College took the 10th spot among Regional Colleges in the North for Top Performers on Social Mobility for the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Colleges rankings.

Hilbert College will begin the 2023 school year with an enrollment of more than 970 students across traditional and online undergraduate and graduate programs. Enrollment at the College is the highest it has been in a decade. For the second year in a row, the College experienced its largest new student class (340), contributing to more than 30% overall growth in the last twenty-four months. And, for the fourth year in a row, the College’s fundraising program reached record highs, delivering $2.25M to Hilbert’s bottom line.

Hilbert College Campus Safety will participate with local first responders for an emergency preparedness drill on the Hilbert campus on Saturday, July 8, from 1-4pm. The drill will focus on active shooter and mass casualty prevention and preparedness training and will involve the Town of Hamburg Police Department patrol and SWAT officers, volunteer fire companies, EMS, and Hilbert Campus Safety.

Hilbert College has signed an agreement with Tops Markets to provide a tuition discount for Associate, Bachelor, and graduate-level degree programs for Tops Associates and household family members.

Hilbert College has elected four new members to the College’s Board of Trustees. Brian J. Connolly, Louis Petrucci (MPA ’15), Jennifer Seib (BS ’03), LMHC, CASAC, and Richard C. Suchan each will serve a three-year term.

The Board of Trustees of Hilbert College, a Catholic Franciscan college based in Hamburg, New York, today announced the acquisition of Valley College, a career-focused college with campuses in West Virginia and Ohio, by its affiliate, Franciscan Services. Together, the colleges will serve more than 2,000 students across New York, West Virginia, and Ohio in traditional and online programs. All required regulatory approvals have been secured and the consortium will begin operations on June 1.

Hilbert College held its 62nd annual commencement ceremony on Friday, May 19 at the Hafner Recreation Center on the Hilbert campus. The graduates welcomed commencement speaker The Most Reverend Michael W. Fisher, Bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo—the Bishop’s first commencement speech since arriving in Buffalo in January 2021.

The Peter & Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation has awarded Hilbert College a $100,000 capacity building grant, to support the first year of a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASAC) partnership project between Hilbert College and BestSelf Behavioral Health. The funding will be used to support educational, technological, and programming needs during this unique initiative's first year within the Hilbert College Global online division.
