The Peter & Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation has awarded Hilbert College a $100,000 capacity building grant, to support the first year of a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASAC) partnership project between Hilbert College and BestSelf Behavioral Health. The funding will be used to support educational, technological, and programming needs during this unique initiative's first year within the Hilbert College Global online division.

Hilbert College was awarded a Liberty Partnerships Program grant for $1.25 million over five years, $250,000 per year beginning this year through August 2027, to serve 200 students annually in the program. The Liberty Partnerships Program, which is administered by the New York State Education Department, partners with institutions of higher education to align meaningful school and community partnerships that deliver research-based programming to students enrolled in public and non-public schools that are identified as having a high risk of students dropping out of school. Hilbert is the first private higher education institution in Western New York to receive this transformative grant.

Hilbert College welcomed its largest incoming class on record this fall, an 81% increase in new students from fall 2021 to fall 2022. Hilbert had approximately 220 new students in fall 2021 and 399 new students in fall 2022. Hilbert’s overall student enrollment also increased 20% compared to 2021, from 750 to 901.

This September, Hilbert College is excited to celebrate several very notable occasions, including the 125th Anniversary of the College’s founders, the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph, and the 65th Anniversary of Hilbert College. As part of this celebration, Hilbert will host the 125th/65th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, September 10 at 6:00 p.m. on the Hilbert College campus.

Hilbert College launched its strategic plan, Hilbert 2025, in January 2020 with four distinct goals: 1) Enhancing the Franciscan Mission and Identity, 2) Growing Enrollment, 3) Strengthening Academic Performance and the Student Experience, and 4) Strengthening its Financial Position. At the midway point of the plan, the College has made some tremendous strides towards fulfilling its strategic intent.

The Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation, Inc. (ECLEF) presented Hilbert College with their Community Service Award for support of law enforcement initiatives. The award was presented at the Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation annual awards dinner earlier this summer. Dr. Martin Floss, professor of criminal justice at Hilbert and ECLEF board member, presented the award to Hilbert President Dr. Michael Brophy.

HAMBURG, N.Y. -- Hilbert College’s cutting-edge Digital Campus Initiative will provide every on-campus undergraduate full time student with a laptop and digital textbooks. In addition, this program will improve and expand wireless access across Hilbert’s Hamburg campus and implement a universal card access system for students. This groundbreaking initiative is designed to enhance learning and inspire innovative teaching, both inside and outside of the classroom, while creating digital equity for all Hilbert students. The initiative will launch in fall 2022 for returning and new students.
