Bio:
A native of LaGrange, Ga., Gibson earned a doctorate in higher education administration from Jackson State University, a master’s degree in public administration from Savannah State University, and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Georgia.
Dr. Gibson has a storied background in public administration having worked in the District of Columbia Government and the City of Richmond,VA. In the District of Columbia she served as the Director of Grants Management and in the City of Richmond, Virginia she served as a Community Liasion and Policy Advisor to Richmond City Council. Dr. Gibson started teaching in Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University in the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government & Public Affairs. Her research interests and areas of teaching are in state and local government, public policy, talent management and equity and access in public policy.
Dr. Gibson is involved in numerous community and philanthropic initiatives. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, the Junior League of Buffalo and a member of Calvary Baptist Church located in Buffalo, NY.
