HAMBURG, N.Y. - Several Hilbert College graduating students received 1999-00 Academic Honors Awards and Certificates at the college's recent annual honors reception. Students were honored for achieving a 3.3 cumulative quality point average and above.
Patrick Healy III of Hamburg, who is one of two graduates to be the first bachelor's degree recipients in liberal studies (law and government), received the Hilbert College Award for Law and Government in recognition of superior achievement in his area of study. Healy also received the Franciscan Award in Philosophy for excellence in the study of philosophy and religious studies, and whose life values and ideas reflect the spirit behind a Franciscan education.
Students inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society for business students, were Hamburg residents Lisa Dorman, Doris Echeverria, Ronald Hestdalen and Candace Kowal.
New inductees into Lambda Epsilon Chi, a national honor society for paralegal students, included Elizabeth Escott of West Seneca, Joelle Wrobel of Lackawanna, and Mark Zanghi of Fredonia.
