HAMBURG, N.Y. -- Hilbert College recently received a $10,000 gift from Evans National Bank to support the Richard Craig Scholarship, named in honor of the late Hilbert board member who passed away in December.

A Hilbert board member since 1991, Craig had served as chair of the board's budget/finance and human resource committees.

He was president, chief executive officer and chairman of Evans Bank, having built it from a three-branch institution to one with seven branches located throughout the Southtowns.

Attending the check presentation were Thomas Waring Jr., Hilbert board member and president of Waring Financial Group in Hamburg; Sister Edmunette Paczesny, president of Hilbert; Carolyn Craig of East Amherst, wife of Richard Craig, and James Tilley, president of Evans National, based in Angola.
