ORCHARD PARK, NY - Erie Community College hosted it's annual Invitational on Wednesday, September 23rd at Harvest Hill golf course. Daemen College and ECC finished tied for first place but Erie won the NCAA tie-breaker when adding in the fifth golfer's score. Hilbert College finished in 4th place.
Tournament results: Erie Community College - 320; Daemen College - 320; Coming in third place was Medaille College with a team score of 342. Hilbert outpaced D'Youville College by 1 stroke with a score of 368 good for 4th place, leaving D'Youville in sole possession of last place with 369 score.
Jim Merriman from ECC was the medalist with a score of 77. Hilbert's top finisher was Brian Rathke (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon-Saint Jude) who tied several others for 6th place with a score of 81.
Hilbert's golfers were Brian Rathke (81), Tim Hourihan (93), James Costianes (95), Ian Frost (99) and Cody Troutman (119).
Up next for the golfers is a match at Peek n-Peek golf course on Thursday, September 24th hosted by Penn State Behrend and then on Saturday, September 26th at the Medaille Invitational held at Glen Oaks country club.
