Bradford, PA - The Hilbert College women’s soccer team competed at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on
Wednesday October 6th and were consumed by the Panthers in a 4-0 loss. Pitt-Bradford maintained control, outshooting the Hawks 16-8 and capitalized on their corner kicks during the 90-minute game. The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference loss drops Hilbert to 1-2 and 4-7 overall. Bradford earned their first conference win (1-3) and improved to 4-8 overall.
Bradford took a 2-0 lead into half time and chipped away at Hilbert’s keeper, Mary Zinni (Batavia, NY/Batavia), the entire game (16 shots with 4 saves). The Panthers two second half goals were scored off a corner kick restart and a hard shot from the corner. Hilbert’s middie, Alyssa Hubert (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) led both squads with 5 shots for the contest.
Before the Hawks host their next home game (October 16), they travel to Mount Aloysius College (Oct. 9) and then play cross-town rival D’Youville College (at Buffalo’s Riverside high school) on Columbus Day with a 4 pm start.
