The third annual Jonathan “Jay” Musialowski Golf Benefit Scramble Tournament took place over the weekend in Darien, NY with several Hilbert College friends participating in the shot-gun tournament. All proceeds raised will benefit the JJM Fund which was established to assist in the long-term care for Hilbert’s former baseball coach.
The Hilbert foursome, who shot a very impressive 9 under and finished in 3rd place, were Jimmy Pernick (a former baseball player of coach Musialowski at Hilbert) Susan Viscomi (Director of Athletics), Andy Dvornski (golf coach) and Rob Peterson (women’s basketball coach). Cynthia Zane and Stephen Mazurak were generous sponsors.
Musialowski was injured in late February 2010 when the car he was driving hit a patch of black ice and spun into on-coming traffic. The Buffalo resident was struck at full speed from behind and suffered a broken left arm and extensive brain trauma. He spent several long months in the intensive care unit at Erie County Medical Center before he was permitted to leave. Musialowski’s health continues to improve but he will require continual assistance with daily activities.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the JJM Fund may contact Jonathan's dad, Chet Musialowski, at 716-949-1684.
