HAMBURG, NY - Hilbert's Adam Weaver was name the United Volleyball Conference's Player of the Week March 11. This marks the first time this season he was recognized by the UVC after opening the year with back-to-back Player of the Week honors in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
The junior outside hitter averaged 3.88 kills per set during the second UVC crossover weekend at New Paltz. Weaver earned 14 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 sweep of SUNYIT on Saturday. Then on Sunday, he totaled 10 kills and nine digs against #6 ranked Stevens and followed that up with 11 kills verse #7 ranked New Paltz.
Weaver continues to lead the UVC this season in kills (274), kills per set (4.22) and aces (31).
The Hawks (2-8 UVC/ 5-16) have one remaining league game at Penn State Behrend (March 21). They finish their season at home with an April 3rd match against PS Behrend and their senior game April 9th against Thiel College. Sandwiched inbetween are road matches against Keuka (3/27) and a tri-match at Wells College (3/30).
