HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College President Cynthia Zane, Ed.D. requested the Board of Trustees’ consideration to move up her retirement date to August 31, 2018 from December 31, 2018, and the request was approved. Due to some unanticipated family health issues, Zane requested the change so she can make the full time transition back to Michigan with her husband, Steve Mazurak, and spend more time as Nana to her 11 grandchildren.
After the Board approved the request, they authorized the appointment of an interim president to serve for four months – September 1 through December 31, 2018, when Hilbert’s fourth president is expected to begin serving the College. The process to select an interim president is being kept separate and distinct from the search for the permanent appointment, which is also underway.
Hilbert’s national search for the permanent replacement is being performed under the guidance of Dr. Katherine Haley of Haley Associates.
