HAMBURG, N.Y. – Gregory Roberts has been appointed Interim Vice Provost and Dean of Students at Hilbert College. He will begin his new role at Hilbert on August 13 and will remain through the academic year.
Roberts has over 30 years of experience working in student affairs with significant experience in Catholic colleges. He served as the Vice President for Student Affairs for 10 years at the University of St. Thomas. During his time there, he co-founded the Masters in Student Affairs program and taught educational leadership programs.
“I am very pleased to have an opportunity to work with a highly qualified student affairs leader,” said Kristina Lantzky Eaton, Ph.D., Hilbert’s Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “His commitment to students’ personal development and a values-centered education will help us to continue our development of a supportive campus environment for all students.”
Roberts has also had a leadership role in the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), a leading student affairs association. His work with ACPA included overseeing activities, offices, and staff serving almost 7,500 student affairs professionals and expansion of programing internationally.
Roberts has been honored by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) with the Pillar of the Profession Award, and he received the Dean’s Medallion for Distinguished Service from Indiana University College of Education among many other honors and recognitions. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University School of Business, and earned his master’s in education at Indiana University’s Graduate School of Education. He also earned an education specialist degree (Ed.S.) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
