HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College has announced it will enlist a Comeback Taskforce to consider the many options and questions the College must address as it prepares to welcome students, faculty, and staff back to campus for the fall 2020 semester.
Earlier in May, the College announced to its campus community that it intends to open the campus for the fall semester. As a result, the newly-formed Comeback Taskforce will develop contingency plans to address any needed precautions and consider the many questions that need to be answered before the community returns to campus.
Some of the scenarios the taskforce will prepare for include gathering size limits, hybrid classroom schedules, the possibility of an adapted class schedule, residence hall modifications, or a slightly delayed start to the term, if necessary. However, Hilbert will execute those plans only if they are needed to further protect the well-being of the entire campus community.
Later this summer, Hilbert will announce its specific plans and any modifications for the fall semester based on the work of this taskforce.
“Once again, we plan to be on campus in the fall and are doing everything in our power to support that,” Hilbert President Michael Brophy, Ph.D. said. “The only thing that would prevent a return to campus would be a public health directive from the state or federal government.”
