** Advance Registration is Required by Wednesday, September 21st**
On Thursday, September 29 , all students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in our campus-wide Franciscan Day of Caring.
This year Hilbert College is partnering with over twenty community partners committed to serving and strengthening our community through their mission and work. Participating in Franciscan Day of Caring is an important opportunity for our Hilbert community to experience the impact and importance of service with others, as well as take action to promote equality, justice, respect and compassion.
During the registration process, volunteers will select from a list of group service opportunities. Volunteers are asked to dress appropriately for the work that they will be performing. Pants, jeans or knee-length shorts and closed-toe, sturdy shoes (such as sneakers) are required. Hilbert College t-shirts will be provided. So that we can best accommodate all participants, registration closes on Wednesday, September 21st.
On September 29th, Hilbert volunteers will enjoy a light breakfast and meet at 8:30am in their group's assigned classroom in Bogel Hall. In the classroom, they will get to know their site leader and the other volunteers they will be serving with. Volunteers will then travel together to their community partners using Hilbert-provided transportation. The volunteers will serve at their community partner site for two to two and a half hours before returning to campus for lunch and reflection. Please make note of the meeting time and location when signing up for your service opportunity.
If you are a non-profit or community organization who would like to partner with Hilbert College for future service opportunities, please reach out to Rachel Wozniak at rwozniak@hilbert.edu.
