FROSTBURG, MD – Frostburg State (10-2-1, 4-0), the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s (AMCC) third place team racked up seven unanswered goals on Saturday while cruising to their 10th win of the season. The Lady Bobcats haven’t lost since dropping a 1-0 decision to Elizabethtown College back on September 2nd.
The host Bobcats held a 3-0 lead at the half as the Hawks were unable to test Frostburg keeper Stephanie Gwinn. For the game, the Bobcats Lauren Russell recorded a hat-trick, including the game winning goal which came less than seven minutes into the contest. Stephanie Parker picked up a pair of assists and six other players recorded points in the win.
Hilbert Keeper Kellie Goodwin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) recorded 10 saves in the losing effort which sees the Hawks fall to 2-9-1 overall, and 0-3-1 in the AMCC. Frostburg dominated the stat sheet with a 36-2 advantage in shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.
Hilbert will regroup for an important conference match at home Tuesday against Lake Erie College. Kick-off will follow the men’s game against the Storm
