Sean Purtill has been named as the Hilbert College April Student-Athlete of the Month.
Purtill (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) finished the month ranked in the top two spots in several offensive categories as the Hawks went 3-4 in April. The sophomore led Hilbert with 27 points (15 goals), and 64 shots (41 on goal) during the last month of the season just as the Hawks were fighting for a play-off spot in their first season of competition in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
As one of only four players to start all seven games in April, Purtill led the Hawks in goals scored on three occasions. He netted five goals (3 assists) in the 13-7 victory over SUNYIT; scored four goals against Thiel (16-5 win) and led the Hawks with three goals in the 15-9 loss to cross-town rival Medaille.
For the season, Purtill led the team in points (43) goals and assists (25/18), shots and shots on goal (95/60).
Purtill is pursuing a business administration degree and carries a 3.07 grade point average.
